Lori Adelman and Leila Darabi first bonded while working at Planned Parenthood Global, where they sat side by side comparing notes on their favorite podcasts, including My Brother, My Brother and Me, Reply All, The Read, and For Colored Nerds. Their instant connection as kindred communications souls sparked a years-long friendship that continued well beyond their time as colleagues. Today, Lori is a nonprofit executive who later served as the Executive Director of Planned Parenthood Global and recently launched Soft Skills, a Substack where she will write about the intersections of media, emotional intelligence, and technology. Leila advises nonprofit and philanthropic clients on narrative and communications strategy, and curates the Instagram account @persian_ish, where she shares photos of the food she makes.
